About Me
My interest in caring for families was inspired by both my great grandma and grandma from the rainforests of Amazon. Both of these amazing women had the joys of bringing 15 children to life. I have very fond memories of my grandma, who always took a very holistic approach in life. I learned a lot about remedies (and their scientific properties) to treat all kinds of ailments, like acid reflux, colic and eczema, all very common issues for babies. My grandma was a role model in our village with her love in supporting new mothers emotionally and physically. From her, I learned to care for others, especially mothers and children.
This led me to pursue a career in teaching pre-school and kindergarten for four years. Ever since, my experience in childcare has been a huge part of my life. I’m a mother of a beautiful daughter and grandmother of a precious granddaughter. In these past 30 years, I have cared for families of all kinds of backgrounds, even high profile clients, from celebrities to foreign royalty, and have even cared for twins and triplets. In terms of my professional training, I’m accredited by Doulas of North America and have also been a nurse assistant. I am constantly seeking to learn more.
Both my extensive knowledge of mothers and babies and intuition empower me to be the best doula I can be. What I really love is being a part of a family’s journey, from pregnancy to childbirth to postpartum. When I start the journey, I clear my mind and give everything I have to the mother, especially during the toughest moments. I find that connecting with mothers allows us to share the same vibes, and eventually empowers me to do my job well, especially since every mother is different and I adapt according to her needs. One of the most memorable moments was with a mother who had breast cancer and wanted to breastfeed. We went through a lot together as I supported her through the toughest of times. It was most rewarding when she said, “Giovania, you saved my life.” The connection with mothers matters so much to me.
Now I understand you must be wondering about your new stage of life and may feel overwhelmed by everything you need to learn and do. Well, there’s no need to spend countless hours researching so many different rabbit holes. No need to suffer from sleepless nights feeling helpless and anxious about your little one. I’m here to help you and most importantly, make your life as easy as possible.

"From the moment we reached out to Gigi, a dedicated birth worker, at week 39 of our pregnancy, we knew we were in good hands. Her professionalism and kind nature shone brightly as she supported us through this critical stage.
One of the standout aspects of Gigi's services was the prenatal massage, for which she brought her own table, providing us with convenience and comfort. Her understanding touch provided relief and relaxation in a time of high tension.
Gigi also demonstrated her comprehensive knowledge of baby care. She inspected our bassinet and imparted crucial advice about safe sleep practices, helping us feel more confident in our preparations.
She checked in on us not once, but twice post-birth, ensuring both our baby and we were doing well. Beyond this, her offer to relieve us for a night or two was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her clients' wellbeing. The chance to catch up on sleep was a blessing that new parents would truly appreciate.
We found her holistic approach to maternal care incredibly beneficial. The stretches she guided us through aided in our physical recovery, while her unique technique of cupping proved to be a great stress-reliever.
Adding a delightful and nourishing touch to her service, Gigi made various herbal teas, scrumptious lactation cookies, and even Brazilian bread. These thoughtful gestures not only boosted our health but also provided moments of simple pleasure.
In conclusion, Gigi's birth work services are truly exceptional. Her blend of professionalism, care, and expertise creates a support system that we would highly recommend to anyone in need of a birth worker. We can't thank her enough for her immeasurable support during this life-changing experience."
